I try to relate unit names to the character name or their home region/religion (Spears of Brusus for Kin, Blue Orchids for Lan, Sun Harvest for Seri, etc.) Each character usually gets one unit name, or one name per unit type, unless something major changes in their lives. For militia drops, I do try to come up with something proper and interesting, but I'm not above using the snarky take-that names if the situation calls for it :p
