In Medieval times, the Kings were kings by the divine will! They were Kings because It was God will!...  8)

To say no to religion, is to say you don't have any rights to be king! You are only an oversized armed peasant! ... mmm... maybe in the Mendicant matter this is the most accurate description!  ;D

This makes me question if you've read anything Medicant has posted on the matter.

The concept of "Divine Right" is really more of a 17th century concept, not Medieval.

Perth beat me to it.

Getting more technical, Medieval rulers ruled by raw force, but governed by church approval. That is, they became king because they had the biggest army: but they led a nation by staying on good terms with the church. Obviously, BM isn't exactly like that; it's not much like that at all (SA isn't even close to that level of independent power), but the principle remains.

If you want to be historically correct, it would in fact be more akin to 400 AD dating back to the distant BCs what with Pharaoh god-kings, Xerces the utter douche, the Emperors of Rome being praised as graced by the gods, and other such examples. ;-)
Old (Deleted) Aurea family= Alura (Ruler/Marshal-Terran); Alekhthaeos (Arcaea); Ehndras (Riombara); Vvaros (Arcaea); Magnus (Xerarch-Xavax); Alekhsandr (Marshal/Hero-Fissoa); Decimus (Warrior-Sandalak); Khets'aeïn(Assassin-Riombara)

This account is no longer in use. New account vaguely under wraps.

Who ever said that SA's bloodstars are red? They are red in the pictures to symbolize the whole blood thing with the bloodstars but no one said the stars were actually red.

In the early medieval period, might = right was largely the rule of the day. It was only towards the end when the nobility began to be very broad and the peasantry more powerful that the divine right bull!@#$ was invented.

That's not to say that this isn't stupid. These guys don't want religion in their game because it distracts from the singular focus of conquering everything in sight single-mindedly. Not having religion is a load of horse!@#$ - worship your god-king or whatever, but your characters can't just reject the notion of superstition because "I like my King".

And Glaumring knows what he's talking about when it comes to looking foolish, so I'd take his advice. :P

Of course they are. They're blood colored. We're all blue-blooded, unless you're one of those filthy peasants.
After all it's a roleplaying game.
