Are you a Cavalier? That adds a significant amount to recruitment limits.

Holding unique items is equivalent to you gaining that amount of prestige, making it harder to gain more.
The above is accurate 25% of the time, truthful 50% of the time, and facetious 100% of the time.

I have >500 Honour and 40 prestige, and my character can only recruit 115 cavalry.

don't know. i know my hero (301/44) fielded 81 sf (including a few above limit volunteers) a few days ago. so adding another 20 odd to beat 105 shouldn't be impossible.

obviously.. he's now down to <20.... but hey.. XD

SF are a different matter, I'm talking about cavalry. I can recruit 81 SF myself, but I can't recruit 200 cavalry, or even close.
