So I was fiddling with some graphs.

If you stack Dwilight population lines, you can see total continental non-rogue, non-Zuma population: which should be the bulk of population in total (though rogue regions recently revolted will no doubt have significant populations).

That population fell from a peak of 2.38 million peasants to a bottom of 1.89 million peasants.

Now, let's assume that half of that is not dead peasants, but just revolting peasants. So population "of same regions" fell only 245,000, not 490,000.

245,000 extra deaths from starvation (because of course there were also births during that time) is about 10% of the population of Dwilight. I'm trying to think of events that have knocked off 10% of a continent's population.

Can anyone think of any incident in recorded history that has killed off 10% of a continent's population, besides the Bubonic Plague?
