Realm Colors

So, in another thread (http://forum.battlemaster.org/index.php/topic,3142.0.html), Tom is displaying example maps of the new system... Why are so many of our realm colors so similar? It makes it so hard to tell them apart...

My problem, though, is I can't see an IC reason to change... Any suggestions?

Most rulers probably don't stop to consider other realm colors when they pick their own. Others may do it intentionally.

Personally, I don't see why you would *need* an IC reason to change it. It has no effect on anything IC. But if you needed it, you could justvsay you changed your mind. Or the color clashes with the color of your new warhorse's (or mistress's(!)) hair. Or you want to make it clear that you aren't associated with the other realm.

Or, you could wage war on the other realm, and force *them* to change!

Because CE takes many names and forms, but only one color.

Seriously, for those that didn't know this is the real IC reason for most of it. At least for Coria it is.

I rather like the current color scheme. The Viking realms have mostly cold colors and the Southern realms have mostly warm colors. The Vikings have cold cunning and the southerners have HOT BLOOD.

Maybe the Taran and Corian colors could be a bit more distinguishable. A more coppery, brown-ish, orange-ish yellow would probably suit Tara better. Coria could have a paler, more pastel yellow.

I really do not understand why Tara's color isn't Blue; or why Coria's color is yellow at all.

But it's realm color, not flag color... it's not actually represented IC beyond the map and the names in the Diplomacy page, both of which are questionable IC. Plus, Coria just finished a war. Gimmie some time.

Coria's yellow is at least in half our flag... Tara has yellow only on their little lion and it's darker than what they use on the map. Ottaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr!

Oh is that yellow? It always looked like a tan or a weird brown to me. *shrugs*

Yeah, I just guess it would seem that their "Primary" color would be Blue, and yellow would naturally be a "Secondary" color. It's like Eston, we have yellow on our flag too, but it would seem weird to make it our realm color when the Light Blue is so clearly the main color.
