Locals report that a large group of bandits were killed and/or captured by Cagilan troops in the region of Alaise. In a press conference, General Enri Kinsey reminded the citizens and peasantry that banditry is a crime punishable by death by hanging. Furthermore, bandit leaders are subject to the gruesome TRIAL OF KNIVES. Despite these harsh measures, however, banditry remains a problem in some Cagilan frontier regions, as depressed economies in the war zones drive many to crimes of desperation. When pressed on this by reporters, General Enri kindly reminded everyone of the many charities within our cities that are set up for the sole purpose of aiding refugees, vagrants, and other temporarily displaced peasantry. "Get thee behind city walls," he was quoted as saying.
In unrelated news, some Makarian nobles were found touring the mountain regions, with only a few troops as bodyguards. They were quickly and efficiently captured by local militia forces, and will be held for ransom. It seems that the dim-witted Makarians completely forgot about the war, and journeyed into the mountains to pick flowers and visit the local petting zoos. One Makarian prisoner proudly displayed his painting of a scenic mountain vista in his cell.
