Removing unresponsive General
« Topic Start: July 13, 2013, 01:41:19 AM »
Greetings all,

About 3 weeks ago, the General of my realm openly asked if anyone was interested in the position.  Since then, they have no responded to public or private requests on their intentions, but has posted a random message in response to a battle.  They log in so they don't go idle, but that's it.

I think I have a command to remove them, but does that violate any rules?  I know the player has the right to be idle, but the character, if being played, does not.

thoughts?

Thanks,
Scott

The player has a right to be idle.

The character does not have a right to not do their job.

The General has a job to do. If he's not doing it and won't step down, ban him.

You can't ban government members.

Then protest him out of office. If he isn't doing his job, you should be able to convince your Nobles that he needs to be removed. Or else, change the Government Setup to allow for Elections for General to 'remove' him next month.

Its fairly new. From my POV anyway. Then again, I could say religion is fairly new from my perspective. Why would we need priests anyway? We need good troop leaders in our battle groups damnit!

You haven't been able to ban government members for 7.5 years I've been playing.
If at first you don't succeed, don't take up skydiving.

Switched to elected position - thanks for the advice!  Hopefully the General resumes his duties in the meanwhile
