It looks like that Wikipedia BM entry egamma made has already been deleated. It took them less than two hours... they're certainly fast if nothing else  >:(

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_text-based_MMORPGs has been updated.

It took the Wikipedia stupids one hour to revert your edit.

anybody want to publish three one page hardcover books with only this for text: www.battlemaster.org

No trolling, please, no matter how much you disagree.

But if you can get BM mentioned in some online magazine, you would do us all a massive favour. Many of the smaller ones are accepting outside reviews, if they are well-written.

We tried that last time.

The deletionists said that because it was a user-submitted review, it didn't count. It must be written up by the staff of the publication.

...although I think it's worth noting that Omerta's "references" are all press releases, and two of OGame's four are from its own site/wiki. (And one of the other two, while it appears to be from an official publication, only redirects to the main page of Heise.de.)

So apparently some games are good enough to include without the strict requirements applied to BattleMaster.

To be fair to the deletionists, egamma's edit did come across strongly as advertising - the link and description were, well, a little on the heavyhanded side.

But yeah, we just need someone to write up some articles on the interwebs for us.

And we should call one "Suck it, deletionists!"

Well, the other links were all wiki links, but Battlemaster isn't 'notable' enough to have it's on wikipedia page. So it was a direct link instead of a wiki link.

You see, this is how it works:

They don't allow you on the list because you don't have a WP page.
They delete your WP page because you are not notable.

Frankly, whatever. Stop wasting time with Wikipedia, it's a lost course. There is nothing on it that you don't already know, because nothing that isn't already public knowledge is allowed on. Unless you want to find the name of some obscure porn star, they all have their own WP page. So much for the priorities of WP editors.

I'd like to point out that TVTropes considers this game worthy of note:

Nice find. Well, that's one mention. Here are two more, one an article by me and one an interview with me:

If anyone here is a "troper" it might help to add BM to different pages.

We could do something like what Urban Dead did. Get a crappy B rate movie to sponsor the game.

Funny you should mention that. I actually had an idea for a short film based on Battle Master.

No, TVTropes explicitly has no notability guidelines, unlike Wikipedia. So someone took the time to add the page, not necessarily that they found it notable. But still, that page could also use work.

Ah but you see somewhere a troper had to consider it notable to bother writing it down :P
