I wasn't done yet dumping Old RP's onto this thread. With this RP you will read about a new hobby Aldrakar developed. It was inspired by fellow players and one I never had imagined for my character hehe.

Gardens

Since he returned from Shinnen several letters had reached him, some pertaining duty, some were from friends and a handful on a more personal note. As Aldrakar sat at a desk placed outside in the manorial gardens overlooking the town of Aveston his mind wandered back to the letters of Lady Sibylla. Casting a glance to the left of the desk to where the chests with plant seeds stood an idea started to form.

''Scribe, bring large sheets of parchment and charcoal pens, feather quils, ink and measuring sticks. Be quick about it man!'' His tone more cheerful than the words would suggest. The scribe hurried off towards the Manor to fetch the items requested by his lord.

Pushing aside several large stands of dark blond hair from his face in an attempt to thwart the wind's endless game of obscuring his vision he looked out over the town trying to picture where he would place it. He loved the seaside wind on his face and preferred his hair loose at times like this but it wasn't always practical. Can't be practical all the time Aldrakar supposed.

Aveston town was rebuilding at rapid speed, after the foundation works done by the former Duke, Malus Solari the region was really shaping up. It would take a long time still before it was fully restored but all signs were green and good to go. Shipyard, harbour, market it was going to be a busy town that’s for sure. Aldrakar wondered as he looked at the slums, shacks and open spaces in and around the growing town.

He had considered creating a park with the gift from Lady Sibylla but that was too public. Fineries can't really be appreciated by commoners. A garden then, small, secluded and easily maintained. The thought didn't sit well with him. It wasn't ambitious enough. It wouldn't do for an Earl and Marshal of the realm. Thick frown-lines formed onto his face that made him look older, perhaps wiser and slightly constipated.

A shuffle of feet and utensils being placed or dropped onto the desk tore him away from his thinking. ''As you requested M'lord.'' The scribe said in a properly formal tone and Aldrakar dismissed him with a mildly appreciative smile and nod of his head. Quick to gather up the items he would use first he set charcoal pen to parchment and started to draw out crude lines that were to represent Aveston town. His eyes darting up towards the town itself to ensure he was at least somewhat accurate in his drawings.

While creating this his eye fell onto a space near the noble quarters of the town. Nearly bordering his own manor and if that space would be enlarged with one of the plots currently designated for the manor of a minor noble it would be just about large enough. He pushed aside the charcoal drawing and quickly penned down the reclaiming order on a different piece of parchment to be handed to his secretary to work out.

Finishing the order for his secretary the thought popped into his mind. Botanical garden. That’s what it would become, a large and exotic garden full of fragrant flowers beds, unique trees in splendid formations and rare bushes sculpted into living statues. A wolfish grin conquered his lips and with a fury he set to drawing, sketching and planning the Botanical garden that he would create in the noble district of Aveston Town. The gift of plant seeds from Lady Sibylla would be put to good use indeed.

And as if by chance or fate, Aldrakar fell into the pit of a new hobby it seems, gardening. Who would've thought..
