Is it too easy to keep your peasants loyal?

I see a lot of realms with just about every region at "worshipful" and just about every realm control at "core". I usually only see these stats go down if there's a famine or war. Shouldn't it be a little more difficult then that? Shouldn't each realm have one or two regions at "loyal" or "main" even in peace time?

There are plans to adjust this somewhat with the changes that are slated for the rest of the winter.

Sounds interesting. I used be of the opinion that anything that messed around with the status quo (created difficulty) was bad. Nowadays, anything that messes around with it, or creates more interest, is good  ;D

Basically, the plan is to make regions much less of a roller coaster ride: rather than "You have X, Y and Z that your peasants like, and only A and B that they hate—your region will maintain itself indefinitely!" or "You have X and Y that your peasants like, but A, B, and C that they hate—your region will spiral into death and starvation!" you will have a much, much higher chance of your region remaining in a steady state, whether that state is at all 85% stats, or all 25% stats.

People are obsessed with perfection. Anything that makes perfect stats harder will probably frustrate a lot of people and make them spend more time on region maintenance.

Not if we also make changes to make region maintenance on an individual level much less feasible.

I don't understand what you mean. What's an individual level, and what keeps it from being considered a collective or realm-wide level if every individual is concerned?

I think what he means is how some lords just sit in their regions and hold court and do civil work all day.

That would really shake things up. Needing other players to accomplish things like this will drive interactions and fuel intra realm conflict.

"An individual level" means a noble sitting in a region performing actions that have a measurable and immediate effect on region stats.

The idea we have is to migrate more towards a system where a region that is not in distress will primarily be influenced by policies at the regional, duchy, and realm levels, and individual maintenance actions will be both unnecessary and largely ineffective.

(And please note that "not in distress": regions that need real help will still be able to receive it, don't worry. Also, this is a relatively new item in our planning, so many details have yet to be worked out.)

The great thing about this is it will make regions feel more unique and create a greater sense of culture. "Oh those people in Green Fields have always had an anarchist streak, one can barely call them subjects of the realm."

Can't wait for this to be implemented, it would hugley improve how regions work.

But i can't help to notice that you have allot of things planned.
I hope it is not to much for anything to ever get finished.
Perhaps it would be useful for the community to see what has been planned to launch or being worked at first, and where help is needed.
Most people know little about coding, but i am sure there is something we can do to help.

If people can see the amazing things on the road, they will get more enthusiastic to help.
If in that same post one can read how to help, perhaps some will.
I also understand the effort of training/instructing these helpers, but hey, we got to start somewhere.
