Running an event takes code, writing, and time. (In other words, it takes a lot of time, plus mental energy.) Every single person working on this game is doing so in our free time. Organizing the Ice Age has taken a lot of my time this past month, and will continue to take a fair amount as I monitor the situation and adjust the glacial advance and the monster spawns accordingly. Trying to run an event every 2 weeks? That's completely unrealistic.
Furthermore, as several others have said, if we were to start handing out in-game prizes to people, there would be rampant cries of favouritism. A lot of that, I think, is due to the nature of BattleMaster as a nearly-completely player-oriented game.
Now, I won't say I don't have some ideas about future events that could be run, but there's no way BattleMaster will ever have anything like what you describe in the foreseeable future.
