You would need a high skill trader because the closest region you could get food offers from is so far away so only a high skill trader would be able to see it.

Much easier to find a steward than finding a high skilled trader

I don't see how a steward would help. Explain?

They can travel to other marketplaces and buy food for their region.  Lords can too, but you probably want to keep the lord in the region.

Oh right I forgot about that. The minor issue with that is that you'd need to get to the place, take an estate, and then go back to get food while a trader would just need to get there and buy food.

But the trader would have to go to the nights watch realm to join them at some point probably.  So the fact that the steward had to take an estate in the region.   Also with a trader they would need to be really high skilled to have the range to trade across the inner sea.

There is no need for the trader to join the realm and I feel like if you asked around in a trading guild it wouldn't be too difficult to find a high skilled trader.

At present there are only 5 traders on Dwilight and at least 1 of them (me) is not highly skilled.

I wish priests could become traders.  I might switch Alaster over.

If they could be, my character would probably be a priest right now. And many priests would likely be traders. Unfortunately I believe the sped up travel is considered an unfair advantage. Sure speed helps with traveling, but a unit can help with getting deals sometimes.
