That's not what is disputed, as it is quite common that those are two variations of the same concept of Judeo-Christian d(a)emons. However, daimon might or might not be a different case, and it isn't just a spelling choice. In BM, both daimon and daemon are used, seemingly as distinct entities. However, it could be that the distinctions are not as significant as one might think. Who knows. What is a d(a)emon anyway? Pop culture has distorted them a lot from their origins. Furthermore, are we talking about the most commonly known Western Judeo-Christian versions, or the East Asian versions, or African, or Native American, or the many cultures of the globe, most, if not all, of which had some concept of "d(a)emons"? And finally, how do those relate, if at all, to daimons?

Daimon and Daemon are from the same root Greek. According to the article, they are typically good or benevolent.

Demons, on the other hand are typically quite evil.

"The words daemon and daimon are Latinized spellings of the Greek δαίμων (daimôn), a reference to the daemons of Ancient Greek religion and mythology, Hellenistic religion and philosophy.[1] Daemons are good or benevolent "supernatural beings between mortals and gods, such as inferior divinities and ghosts of dead heroes" (see Plato's Symposium), and differ from the Judeo-Christian usage of demon, a malignant spirit that can seduce, afflict, or possess humans."

What kind do we have on Dwilight? The daemon/daimon or the demon?  ??? I know I'm getting confused.

Whatever the GM says it is, if he says anything at all about it. You could also ask my dude in-game, but he'll probably be pretty vague about it.

Interesting. What about State Religions?

Dragon Worship in D'Hara's royalty. But all the power was handed down from the royal court to the House of Lords, and nobody outside of the royal court still follows the faith.

(read: the faith died, and all the ones who claimed themselves Dragon Kings or Dragon Queens are long auto-paused, but the republican regime decided not to cut all ties with the past)

Daemon and daimon are both transliterations of Greek.  They basically mean 'spiritual messenger', but divinity back then didn't always come with a smile.

Demon is from the same Greek root, but is a later Christian transliteration with added 'evil!'.
