If you're not playing you character in an ooc thread right now and these are your actual thoughts as a person, you have no idea of how military alliances work and what they are for. 
works for which side though? Any alliance is only good so long as it continues to bring benefit. How benefit is define obviously varies greatly depending on situation, but in this case the benefit for D'Hara as long since shrunk in comparison to the cost to maintain it.
