So its time to move beyond the New Beginnings thread...I hereby commission the Ikalak thread.

And my starting roleplay:

Seeing the First Captain striding through the streets, Nelsatio led a band of grubby, but sharply-dressed towards Earandil and knelt a knee. The men followed their troopleader in kneeling, as Nelsatio declared to the First Captain, "Father, I gathered your seamen as soon as I heard of your election!"

Upon Nelsatio's shoulder perched a starling, Sinatra, "Very dirty! Very dirty!"

Nelsatio quickly added, "We will bathe! We will! But excited I was at serving you, Father Captain! Coffeehouses much abrew with talk of disobedience in Sandalak and Taselak!"

Sinatra the Starling again spoke, "Naughty Sandals! Naughty Tassels!"

Nelsatio ignored the bird as he continued proclaiming, "We wish to serve our Captain most! Where will Father send us his seamen?"

Sinatra sung, "I'm gonna live till I die!"

Nelsatio finally rebuked the starling, "Will you ever not have the last word?"

Sinatra found himself stuffed into satchel before he could reply.

"Patches get your patches here! We sell patches from Taselak, patches from Sandalak, patches from old Ikalak! Plundered from the crypts of all the heroes of yore, sewn together for your wearing pleasure!" A crier called out from atop several boxes stacked on the side of the harbor, gesturing his arms towards the front of a well kept tavern. "Get your eye poked out here and you can get two patches for the price of one!  Only at the Whaler's Grotto!"

Inside the Grotto stood a large crowd of men, and some frightening women, all drinking and laughing loudly. Every so often a scream would ring out and silence would fall upon the crowd before another cheer was given and the merriment continued. Shortly after individuals would walk about, staggering around wearing their new eye accessories.
Seated on a balcony overlooking the floor of the tavern, Tiberius sat drinking from his tankard and stacking the coins that were continuously brought to his table by a servant. "By all the seas! It is expected that the peasantry be gullible, but not so much as this," he shook his head as he marked a note down on his ledger. "Who would have known that whaling would be less lucrative than convincing a bunch of drunks that poking out their eyes and wearing patches would be newest craze in Ikalak."

"We have done enough damage for one night however lads, and orders have come in from the First Captain to gather in the field. Kick the drunkards out into the streets and begin to pack up. But first, a toast to newfound wealth! A toast to the Ikalak South Island Trading Company​!" Tiberius lifted his tankard to the cheers of his men, a group now proudly identifying themselves as the Whalers.

So what's going on in Ikalak you wonder, as you consider which War Island realm to join?

Nelsatio stated he needed a napkin soon after arriving. After the First Captain established the message groups (themed on ship sections), Nelsatio asked where the galley was. The reply was that the galley was a bar that served the best suckling pig and brown ale within a league of the sea. Isenthorpe claimed the poop deck. Otherwise, we discuss how fat and round Tassels are and how best to force our love upon the island. Cabin boys and sea speech are everywhere. Jolly sailor parties are growing in popularity.

Nelsatio went to reach for his napkin, to wave at his Father's Seamen. Alas, no one had helped him with his napkin deficiency. Finally he shouted, "Turn round, ye cabin boys! Cast off to [OOC: Censored Military Secrets]! Father Captain expects every child will do their duty! We're going to bring our enemies love, whether they want it or not!"

Sinatra chirped a song,

So when Ikalak lose the battle, should they shout "Abandon ship abandon ship"? Reminded me of a line in Pirates of Caribbean movies
