I am shamelessly turning this into a shameless Gotland recruitment thread. ;D
As Gotland is growing it needs knights and lords to govern and take tax gold.
So if you have a character available in Beluaterra that can stand a bit of absurdity and general bluntness, come to Gotland!
Even a simple visit to Gotland will be an interesting experience for every noble on the continent.
But most of all the many opportunities for a good career is why Gotland is such a wonderful destination, Lordships and even positions of leadership will lay waiting.

Some of the unique/extreme things that make Gotland a special place to play in:
  • The right to war, every noblemen has the right to demand war if the realm is at peace, the ruler has a week's time to declare war if a referendum for war by a simple majority the nobility wins. Gotland will keep looking for war even after the invasion with other human realms, preferably competitive, set wars not total wars as to keep up a healthy environment for dynamic wars in the future.
  • Duchies may arrange their appointments as they wish, the duchy of Gethsemene and Fianik to a lesser point allow region lordship to be challenged by a duel till surrender. They also deal with allowing temples or guild houses of certain religions or guilds to be build.
  • Government members have to keep the nobility updated on what they are doing as much as possible by law, the code of the Herd dictates these (constitutional) laws. The Code of the Herd is written for all nobles and all nobles may change or add any part of it(with a 3/4 majority in a referendum).
  • The Gotland long beards are a small group consisting of three of the most senior members of the realm(most days in realm) with special veto powers over the rulers diplomatic decisions. A 2/3 minimal consensus among the three is required.  They can also force new elections for ruler.
  • Goats are cool.  8) Gotland worships a goat god and consider goats holy animals, referring to almost everything as having something to do with Goats.
(for example: Goat quests for pausing or going inactive, butting of heads for dueling, 'the Herd' for the community or parts of it or the lengths of beards referring to the age and experience of a certain character).
  • We just started our official religion with a bang: two portal events and some epic role plays that can be read here: https://forum.battlemaster.org/index.php/topic,7967.0.htm. The events are still ongoing and unresolved, so you aren't to late yet to jump in at this crucial decisive moment of history and make a change.

Check out Gotland's wiki page for more information: http://wiki.battlemaster.org/wiki/Gotland

If you already play/played in Gotland then consider sharing a bit of experience in this thread, what you liked or disliked or found unique or just a good anecdote.
