Rather than repeating myself, I'll refer back to the Xavax topic (both these topics are kind of intertwining)
I'm not claiming that Garas knows all your plans, I just know that you spoke about stepping down and forming new realms from Nivemus about 2 years ago, maybe slightly less and nothing has happened. You got a Duchy, sure but what did it truly add?
Don't get me wrong, Garas is poor in diplomacy and these days is the worst version of himself due to all that happened, but even before that he always mixed diplomacy with threats. That's the way I decided to play him (I didn't want 3 chars all eloquent and good at everything) hence the mix with Catherine was so good. His failure in diplomacy is part of the reason why FO failed, that's true, but that's not the point here.
And I know Fontan's history, one of the best realms I've been in myself, but if that's your background story of Brock I'm all the more surprised of his behavior honestly.
