I always thought it would be neat to make the mini-game a part of BM, so that nobles could challenge 2 friends to a game, like a duel, except a game like chess and multiplayer. Something neat to do to pass the time when sitting in a region under orders.

Cool idea!
Although the 3 player games where often the best.

I really liked the war islands mini game.
War islands also had a few non BM players.
What I remembered as a downside of the game was setting troop movements in late stage games, every turn you had to repeat the same movement input for the same regions.
Being able to set way paths per region would really solve that. (like in the warlords branch games)

Troop movements where set per region, so was production.
Every turn you had to move the new troops to the front region per region, turn per turn.
Apart from that i really liked the game.
