Number of men/women in unit

Hi all,

Just wondering if the Captain in a unit counts towards the total number in the unit or is it in addition to the total number of the unit?

The Captain is something of an abstractionâ€"to the extent that they exist in-game as a person, they count as one of your soldiers, and will always be the last one left.
