Also, it is an order of magnitude cooler sounding than "Kabrinskia" (sorry dustole).

Actual thinking behind the choice of name, in order of importance:

• It sounds vaguely like "Soluria", which was shot down by several people for "sounding like a brand of can soup".
• It references the sun and light in general, which is a common theme in Luria and the reason behind PeL's banner.
• The realm's full name will be Lurian March of Solaria.  I just need a few more hours in the time pool.
• There is nothing more awesome than naming a realm after one's family.  I did it w/ Soliferum, I was a prime candidate for doing it again!

Placing their individual selves before their ancestry was a commoner idea, as well as an idea espoused by 19th century Americans, though generally those were free northerners. The south still had some aristocratic traditions.
