Can the dev team add a line indicating how much gold I am investing to the region?

Where? Do you want to see this at the point where you select to invest? Or after you have invested?

it tells you (and the whole realm) immediately after you've invested.

so i would imagine he meant before.

Yeah before I invest. Right after I press Family Investment and before I actually invest the gold.
