Polling bug?
« Topic Start: December 12, 2011, 11:04:05 AM »
received this on BT:

"New Referendum   (16 minutes ago)
A new referendum has been initiated by Overlord. The topic is "Mortality ?" and as a player, you are invited to vote on it."

which seems to be a "player" (OOC) poll, but clicking on it gives me:

"Very funny. As if anyone would listen to the opinion of a commoner."

Not sure what it all is, so checking if that's a bug?

Well... do you have a noble character on BT too? If not, this referendum doesn't really matter for you anyway.

No, i don't...but if it is for players, then it's a bug, right?

i can't really know if it is only for nobles if I can't know what it is  ;)

It's just a referendum to the players on BT whether or not mortality should be introduced again, like it was last invasion. (players because if you have two chars, only one will get it) Of course if you don't fight in battles you don't really have to worry about it. :)

Could be, I've never seen a continent wide referendum before, so I'm not sure if the code was ever designed to include adventurer characters.

Yes, it is a bug. I'm sorry. I didn't realize that adventurers are barred from referendums altogether.

If you do have a noble character on the island, let me know which two characters these are (the noble and the adventurer) and I'll switch them.

Nope, only an advy. Not fussed about not being able to vote - just wanted to check for in the future, if you start sending referendums re: player retention stuff, or whatever.

Mind you, advies don't fight, so they won't die in battle.

Perhaps it's better that they not get to vote.

In this case yes, but chances are we will want to use the continent wide referendum again, and it could be relevant to advies in the future. Perhaps the code needs a check box "include Adventurers"

Indeed, should be kept in mind for next time such a thing is desired.

Edit: and the random character code shouldn't pick an advy.
