Return status after a tournament

Is there any particular reason why we have this? Is it for some kind of balance issues? It seems pretty useless to me.

Would you prefer to take just as long to return to your unit as you did to travel to the tournament to start with?

Just for realism's sake, I would suggest making travel to the tournament twice as fast, and then make the noble spend the same amount of time traveling back.

Yes, then the realm holding the tournament and its neighbors get a slight advantage during wartime, because their nobles return faster. That would be the point. "I hope you weren't planning on using your army this week. I just paid off a Duke to hold a tournament on the other end of the island." ;)
