Relationship between CS and hits
« Topic Start: March 13, 2012, 09:54:35 PM »
I've noticed it's posible for a unit with lower CS to perform more hits than one with higher CS.
Also noticed an enemy unit with almost doble your unit's CS can be defeated.
So CS can be misleading?

As the descriptions state, it is an estimate.
The above is accurate 25% of the time, truthful 50% of the time, and facetious 100% of the time.

I've seen like a unit with around 900 CS do like around 1000 hits and a unit with over 10000 Cs do like under 500 hits.
Or two large units like 8000 CS each can not anihilate a unit with only 400 CS during one battle.

CS takes armour into account (among its factors).

If the only difference between 2 units is that one has 20% armour quality and the other has 90% armour quality, I would hope very much that their CS would be different, and that they do not hit for the same amount of damage.

That seems, odd. The only units that are going to get to 10k and 8k CS are invaders. I've never seen a invader unit do so little damage.

Overkill perhaps?

Overkill perhaps?

True, but then it would tell you the total hits plus the reduction due to overkill. I would say it is perhaps a unit using a fake CS, but then I thought that only applied to scout reports and the battle report would show the true CS.

You sure it tells you the total hits plus the reduction? I remember otherwise, but my memory does suck.

It's either that or mikm was talking about diluted damage.

In the hits summary for each round it says something like "100 hits (1,000 before overkill)".

I would have thought it was based on weapon score. A unit with a higher weapon % will do more hits than a unit with the same CS but poorer weapons. Don't heroes also add hits to their unit?

That is the conjecture. Proving it is damn hard with all the random factors involved in battle though.

CS is an average. As others have said, this can easily be explained by one unit have a much higher defense and lower offense power than the other. On average, they'll be better, but they'll still hit less.

That's normal. they were dug in, set to normal, so they stayed in their position for 4 turns, then attacked.
