Update Breakages and Questions

Ok, please help me out here:

Did you get the "population rebalance" messages twice? Because according to the messages archive, this is the first time they were generated. And many postings here seemed to indicate that the rebalance had not been properly applied.

Velax

No, we only got the population rebalancing message once.

No, I got it only once, about 2 hours ago.
But with the update 2 days ago came a population rebalance, without warning.
Loratil, for example, rose from 1800 to 2100 without any message.

To tell the truth, I'm not sure if it came with the update or later, but it was there before the rebalance.

The double change happened only for population as far as I can tell.
Revenue and food production changed only once.

WTF?

Can anyone confirm this? Because if it is true then the first update was seriously borked, despite extensive testing and me looking at the code and mumbling "that's impossible, it should apply either all the changes or none".

Well, given that everyone's been talking for the past couple days about how some of the changes were made but others weren't...

At least on Atamara all values were changed both times. Azzal went from 62 000 peasants to something like 40k and then down to 27k. Gold went from 1783 to 1699 and then down to 1400somethinng. Food went from 133 to 105 and then down to 70s or so(can't tell precisely where since the changes from today seem to have been reverted now).

Got it all on my trusty spreadsheet for Darkan regions on how gold/food changed compared to what we had before :)

That's not true. People posted that they thought the changes were small, not that they were missing. Example, Perdan city went from 2447 to 2410 gold. Which is a small total change, but a considerable change per capita as its population has decreased considerably.

At least on EI, where I've just taken a very good look at both an old backup data set and the current values, all Food, Gold and Populations were changed.

megs

There was no message, so I don't know exactly when the first change occurred.
And I'm afraid I don't have any scribe note from before and after the update.
I don't know if you can fish them up in the system to check for sure, but I'm 99.9% sure that the population changed 2 times.
once after the update, and once after the rebalancing.

i believe the reason no-one mentioned this before is because they thought that it was a normal part of the update.

Tom

The first change happened during the update.

I have two things that seem broken since the update.

1. As ruler of Strombran I made a duchy surrounded on the Townsland of Clyderee which I was Lord of. This morning I received this message

Lord Removed   (5 hours, 10 minutes ago)
message to all nobles of Strombran
Scribes find out that due to confusion about the political (or feudal) hierarchy, Luthor Forbes, Supreme Chancellor of Strombran, Viscount of Clyderee is forced to relinquish his lordship of Clyderee. He, as Supreme Chancellor, cannot hold allegiance to a Duchess.

Estate Vacated   (5 hours, 10 minutes ago)
message to the knights of Clyderee
Scribes find out that due to confusion about the political (or feudal) hierarchy, Luthor Forbes, Supreme Chancellor of Strombran, Viscount of Clyderee is forced to relinquish his estate in Clyderee. He, as Supreme Chancellor, cannot hold allegiance to a Viscount. These 50 % of the region are now without a knight.

Also there is a problem with an election. We lost our Banker and are trying to do a referendum for a new one.

Details for referendum "Vote for the Banker":

Are you able to post the before and after population/gold/food stats for some/all of the FEI regions?

Foundation

Solid Data:

As of yesterday (before second rebalance) - Region, Pop, Gold, Food
Woolton (woodlands), 7800, 425, 191
Castle Ubent (stronghold), 15900, 521, 498

As of a week ago (before first rebalance) - Region, Pop, Gold, Food
Woolton, 6500, 294, 208
Castle Ubent, 11000, 301, 328

I can also confirm that neither the lord nor duke of Castle Ubent has received a "Population Rebalance" message from the first rebalance.
The above is accurate 25% of the time, truthful 50% of the time, and facetious 100% of the time.

Were you also the duke? Because if not, that's working as intended.

Yes, I was Duke, Lord and Knight of a one region Duchy.

The Duchy now does not have a Duke and if you read the first message there is something else weird. It says "cannot hold allegiance to a Duchess"

We don't have a Duchess!
