Title: Removal of prestige requirements for council elections

Summary: Let people with less than 10 prestige run for council elections

Details: ^

Benefits: Allows for newbies to get into the game faster, the restriction is often seen as unfair and arbitrary.

Possible Exploits: Potentially more incompetents would be elected.

How would letting them into complex parts of the game be beneficial? I'd think the learning curve is steep enough as it is.

Also imagine this: Judge Kepler dies after a duel to the death. His 'son' arrives shortly after, and thanks to the leverage his daddy provided he is elected into office without much trouble.

^This would break immersion. Badly.

Good point, but the same thing is possible with appointed positions and we don't really see much of that. It'd happen even less often if they were elected.

The learning curve isn't really that steep, especially for the judge position. What's more, getting 10 prestige can take quite a while in some instances.

Why not just have an outright time limit instead of a prestige limit, if such is necessary in the first place? This just seems to hurt people in some realms with some gameplay focuses more than others.

Newbies are often too shy to even speak out in the realm or even run for lordship elections. They wouldn't run for government elections... this would only make it easier for experienced players to reclaim a lost position with a fresh new character if the old one dies.

Then it sounds like what's really needed is fixing the bug that allows nobles without enough prestige to be appointed.
