No idea, does a tree make noise if it falls and no one is there to here it? Maybe the characters keep living, or maybe they are just lost in time and space. The thing is, no one really knows what happens to paused characters although many claim they do.
Yeah...no. When you unpause a character, you find out by looking at the changes.
