Well if they want you out of your dukeship, they have three options: exile you until step down, convince you to step down through words/bribery, or have infiltrators stab you until you are wounded so long that you lose dukeship due to inactivity.

No words or bribery will work, my character actually has several infils on his payroll, and exile wouldn't work. Sev would hang around just to cause damage.

They could just secede and let him have the humiliation of /another/ realm crumbling around him leaving him with nothing yet again.

Yeah, thx for that. ;)

Still have BR, and it's not a total sh*# hole now, just a partial one. And unlike last time, I've recruited people specifically to come and support Sevastian. Not to mention Royal status, and funds.

they can't secede because there is only one city.

Sevastian - protested out of office. Still a royal and still duke of the capital.

Huh. Somehow it seems a game-wide message should have been sent about this. Everybody knows when a rebellion occurs, why not successful protests?
After all it's a roleplaying game.

We also get messages when a new Ruler is elected...

No new ruler has been elected yet.

In a rebellion, we get the messages as soon as it is launched, whether it ends up being successful or not.

Swordfell is without a ruler now. This seems news enough.

No rebelion was needed. Just the protests of most of the realm.  What happend to keepint IC tuff IC?

Of course, it's an IC event. My point is that it is an IC event of international importance, and a game message should have been sent.

As of now, my character can tell by looking at the realm details, but I only looked it up because it's been mentioned in the forum. IC, characters not in Swordfell have no idea that Sevastian has been deposed.

Anyway, this is really a feature request, I'll write it up in another thread.

No need to advertise it too much, it'll be remedied soon enough  8)

Exactly half the realm. Not most.

I'm fairly certain that in a realm with a city and a stronghold, the duchy with the city can secede. This leaves the old realm with the stronghold, which can serve as a completely functional capital.

Can the duchy with the Stronghold do anything though? Ie, legally switch to a different realm? It leaves the realm with a city.

Demonstrated most recently in the example of Solaria.

Sun Hall didn't secede though, it just switched allegiance.
