If i put my unit to mercenary setting, does that mean that my unit is immune to morale drop or?

It will certainly not be immune, but I believe they may start complaining less early /  have a lower morale drop then normal units from long distances. They do tend to require more frequent pay though.

Basically the distance penalties are halved (or something like that, varies per continent). So instead of seeing a morale drop at 150 miles from your realm, you'll see the drop at 300 miles; and instead of extreme drops at 300 miles, you'll see them at 600 miles.

Which is ridiculous. 300 miles is most likely 3 regions away. With my big tough mercenaries, they have whined when I went to Chesney and I am a D'haran.

I have been in Chesney, as a D'haran with a mercenary unit which is roughly 300 miles maybe 400 if I check again, and I received morale drops if IIRC.
