Two Questions About Adventurers

I have found an item via gathering. I think I recorded it on the wiki as such even.

Ah investigate...yes I had forgotten about that feature as I rarely use it.

Well I have spent days gathering, investigating, and scouting a region with a known lost unique item but have had no luck whatsoever. How hard is it to find items anyways? I know I was not the only adventure doing the same, at least 2 others did as well.

It's a tossup (I'm sure there are formulas, but they'll never be released); you can go months or years without finding one, but the chances are typically much better than that.

Just the other day, I found two different items, one right after the other, from two Alpha monsters in a row. (If that's confusing: 2 Alphas, 2 different items, one extended hunting run... I think rounds 5 and 6 were the lucky ones.)

I've found fighting monsters/undead most effective, but it also requires a great deal of built up strength as well as effective hour/fatigue management.

1) Maybe someone else already found it, and didn't tell anyone.  Especially possible if they wanted it, and it was well-known that someone else lost it.

2) Maybe the RNG doesn't like you this week.

All very possible. Its just a little bit frustrating when you know a lost item was there. Those that went there all shared the same message group and 'likely' would have infirmed the owner.

Personally after playing 4 adventures for 4 years, alphas is the only way I have found items. Just have a hard time believing others found then by gathering or investigating. And no one updates the wiki if that has happened.

I once sold an item to a knight. I think that person then quit or paused. I then found said item again in a region when I was investigating rogues. So the same as what Vita said :)

I can't recall ever finding an item by gathering.

What about sages making them? That is where I got most of my many items from.

Ooh yeah I have had some created by sages. I forgot about that as I have not seen that option in a while as I have been mostly scroll hunting with my Dwilight advy. Probably made 8 our so scrolls in the last 6 months.

I try to update the Wiki for any item I come into contact with, but real life has these silly demands...
