Question about ranks
« Topic Start: May 29, 2011, 06:23:29 PM »
I understand how an Earl holds control over Townsland, and a Duke over a city. But what's the difference with Viscount, Count and Baron?

Couldn't find the answer on the wiki.

Not exactly. It depends on the Title System used by the Realm. Check this Wiki page:

http://wiki.battlemaster.org/wiki/Title_System

Check Information > Realm Government for information on what Title System your Realm uses.

Earl and Count are technically the same feudal rank, just Earl tends to be the Anglo-Saxon/British version of it.  A female Earl is a Countess.

Yes I know that. The thing I wanted to know is how that is expressed within BM. And Wiki said Earl is still slightly higher in prestige, though not in actual rank.

If you are asking about a historical perspective, ask in the background thread.

I didn't.
