Not so fast, and of course a realm is never the same as the former, but...
Rest assured that once the realm council is elected, each of the new realms will be allowed to establish their realms as they wish, whether thats as entirely new creations or a continuation of older realms and islands.

As you say, it isn't the same and I'm not going to be the one who tries to force it back to life like a bad zombie movie.  Unlike some of the comments on here though I fully intend to keep playing with the full set of characters (though it may take till after Christmas to get going again).

Good job ruining it whoever was involved in electing the ruler of Arcaea. Far East is dead now.

I haven't read this thread in a while so I'm a little behind on what people are saying but.... seriously?  My 90 year old character who has been in Arcaea since she was 17, has been a ruler and duchess among other things was supposed to vote for a guy who was going to transform Arcaea from the most powerful realm on the island into a single stronghold afterthought?  How does that even begin to make any kind of IC sense at all?  Dentara was ruler when Arcaea was only Remton and Saex, there is no way in hell she was going to vote for someone who would bring that back and worse.

I can't help thinking it's a daft idea to create an april fool's joke on march 31st.  Because March 31st simply isn't April 1st so even if they reveal the joke then it has no validity to me.  An april fool's joke has to be done on April 1st or it simply doesn't count.  Not to mention having people pause other characters in order to create a daimon would be a frustrating exercise in futility that messes things up for a lot of realms if this isn't for real.

I really hope it isn't just a joke that leaves people with a bunch of adventurers because that's a sure fire way to aggravate people who paused otherwise useful characters, lost units, lost positions, for nothing.

I've got some plans along these lines. Gotta refine them over the next few days, but I think it is a good idea to give the people being displaced a boost in ability to conquer new land for themselves.

I'm going to have to wait and see these plans then because right now I can see no way that my most directly affected character (Asylon/Dwilight) is going to be able to march to the Eastern side of dwilight traversing the entire monster infested western side and then sitting on ships for a week and land in shape for battle (I hardly think the eastern realms will be giving their land away).

BM General Discussion / Re: "today we fight back" banner

It is only for today, and I find the issue important enough to do this.

If you don't agree - that's fine with me. Everyone their own opinion. But lots of people don't even know what's going on and I would much rather have 10 educated people with an opinion opposed to mine than 10 ignorant people who follow me.

The cause is not the issue, rather the presentation because the banner covers an important part of the screen for playing the game which is after all the primary reason most of us come here.  I suspect most people here are in full agreement with the sentiments raised by the petition, I also suspect that many like myself don't like it interfering with playing the game.

If for example it was on the family page (the only place it isn't) instead of in the actual game play then everyone would still see it and it wouldn't impact on playing.

BM General Discussion / "today we fight back" banner

Am I the only one who finds this banner to be really annoying and somewhat intrusive across the bottom of the battlemaster page?  Can't see some rather useful links with that stuff covering up part of the page...

I believe lordship election are Representative Voting.. But if food/gold rebalance approved this week or next week, I will accept.. We player.. Let the dev team do their work..
As has been said, if you don't like it then take your complaints to the ruler.  And if you still get nowhere then find enough support to rebel or leave the realm.

That's flawed logic. Sure, more people means less land, in theory, but rare are regions with 100% arable land, those extra people can be shuffled to put their houses on non-arable lands. More people, however, does mean more workforce, to plow the field, seed the field, weed the field, and then harvest the field. More people definitely means more tonnage per acreage.
Simplified sure but not really flawed.  The good land is not usually split into nice even parcels spread around for convenient use.  A real life example might be the Nile delta.  People didn't live in the desert and travel to the river each day to farm.  They live where they work and if you expect them to walk several miles each day between home and farm then don't expect to see more efficient production.  At best you could say perhaps the breaking point for populatin density is a bit higher (or that it doesn't cause production to decrease, merely causes it to plateau rather than increasing - still the best farming land is also generally the best living land).

Linking food production to population makes sense, but it shouldn't be a simple increase based on population, needs to be more of a bell curve.

eg: say 1 hectare of land with 10 people produces 1 bushel of food.  Makes sense that 1 person would only be able to produce 0.1 bushels because they simply couldn't make full use of all the land.  Now cram 10000 people on that 1 hectare and say they can produce 1000 bushels?  No, they'd be lucky to produce the 1 bushel that 10 can because all the land would be required for living on, not producing food.  That's how it is with the cities.  Should be an optimal population density for food production and decline on either side of that, bit more complicated to actually put into practice but I'm sure you can find someone who likes maths to play with numbers and formulas.

Feature Requests / Re: Idea: Plate Mail
March 02, 2012, 12:47:50 PM
I had a few items.  A couple got stolen when one character was captured in battle, but my Broken Sabre of Flame I got up to +11 prestige.  And it was an almighty pain, by the end it spent more time with adventurers being repaired than being carried by my character before it simply decayed too fast to even be repaired.  I couldn't even take it with me when we marched to battle for a couple of weeks without risking it falling apart before I could get back to find someone to fix it.  Cost a lot more to repair it than I ever spent on buying one.  That was over 6 months ago now, I've never bothered with an item again simply because they aren't worth the grief (to me at least).

I think the price of items varies greatly from island to island, I didn't see any being sold for 50 gold on FEI, 20 gold was more common.

I haven't had a chance to look at that, just finished a 30 hour march out of some mountains and saw this:

Market - you can only access the market place when you are within your region.

I assumed (I know, silly me) that it meant I had to be in my region, I'll try going to a city that I think has a market.

Is there a reason you need to be in your region to access the market?  Especially on Dwilight with the distances and low population density, my lord is 2-3 days travel from his region which is not where the realm needs him to be so I can't even look at the new page.

Not so much broken as not yet added back into the game.

Do we have any estimation of when the colony takeover will be restored?

Development / Re: Caravans Broken (dwilight)?
August 30, 2011, 12:02:26 PM
You get the initial message saying a caravan will be dispatched but then nothing happens.  And yes I expect the price to be higher than 1 gold if the caravan ever reaches its destination, I just hit that because it's a simple way to make sure it sells without double checking prices.
