Dear Ironsides,

You're doing it wrong.

If you want to insult a ruler, you have to have finesse.

Please follow Brom's example: http://forum.battlemaster.org/index.php/topic,3741.0.html

Its called being the bigger man and stopping being childish before the other one apologizes.

Didi I say he should apologize? It just needs to stop, especially considering that now it's just OOC and out of line.

I don't see Sevastian doing anything to stop "harmony in realm." Yes there were issues with that, justified or not, but he's contributing positively to the realm while Bowie is writing satirical plays.

No Bowie, harmony starts with you stopping your childish "brown stain" insults.

I'm not underestimating your knack for showbiz. Rather, it seems I underestimated the extent of your need to demonstrate your immaturity.

If I may throw my dust into this mixer: if by broke my word you mean denounced you as an enemy then hell ya! Don't dare REFUSE to resign to the guy who's supposed to be ruler. No excuse for that, that's akin to treason. Fact, that IS treason! Hence crisis.

Demon +1, Brown - 6

For those who wince at Bowie's lambasting, is anyone surprised? That's the show you paid to see baby! If you want prudish and dignified look elsewhere. Demon is a satirical noble! Ooo, that's good satire.

I wouldn't be paid, much less pay, to watch your show, Bowie.

Ya'll just need to stop talking about this OOC.

Play the damned game without the commentary and keep it IC!

ooh that sounds like a good experiment.

Or you could just leave Swordfell. All of us want to play together fairly, equally, and communally. Sevastian is not a team player because he obsesses over his lands and personal status too much. We can't have a community with an autocrat. That right there's the gist of the whole fishfry.

Speak for yourself. If he leaves it's only fair that you leave too. Looking at the actions of the characters, both Sevastian and Bowie have behaved horribly. Obviously I will always stand by Sevastian since I swore fealty to him but if one is punished then both should be.

I have a question for those who have been reading this and for anyone Actually in Swordfell.  From the way you see things does it sound like Swordfell has broken from  the Serious Medieval Atmosphere because it wants to create a realm where its nobles can speak without regard for Rank being an issue if it is done respectfully.  Where a knight can openly disagree with a Duke and it not bee the end of the world.  This is also given the fact that it states in the laws that everyone is free to speak.

Woefly please do not chime in on this quite yet.  I would like to here from some others first.

Yes, I do think it has broken from the idea of SMA. In my mind much of the SMA 'transgression' comes from how the conflict was handled. It's just too much. It's just aggravating.

And Bowie, that's fine if that's your justifications but you could at least be considerate of other players. Wailing from day 1 of swordfell's creation has made the whole thing really unpleasant, regardless of who has contributed to the unpleasantries. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Buddy you have a really warped view of what's happening. Besides, do you know anything about Bowie? He's the Champion Insulteer of Dwilight.

I don't care if you call yourself the Champion Insulteer. I haven't witnessed any oration that's beyond elementary.

As for finding a realm that suits you, I don't know that caricatures belong on Dwilight. I joined it for the serious medieval environment after discussing what that entailed on the IRC server.

Apparently the price of being imbecilic and covering up your selfishness (for lack of a better, more evident term) with trolling is not all the !@#$s you could've given.

I was excited about being a part of all of this but this sort of self-indulgence and not even letting the realm rest for a moment before stirring up a !@#$storm is not only selfish, but has been executed poorly at best, and has left me wanting and concerned. Concerned because this was not my impression of how people handled things in BM. My impression was that people can handle their characters having a disagreement without going overboard at the flick of a wrist and ruining not only an interesting event but what could've been an interesting controversy with nothing more than immaturity and a seeming lack of respect for the rest of the player community.

I don't know... I'm new. Maybe my standards are too high.

I don't want anyone else to get the wrong idea, this is largely directed at Bowie. From what I've witnessed Woelfy has been largely reactionary and Pike's been trying to salvage the mess.

Bowie, you miss the point. It doesn't matter whether or not it's a forgery. Anyone would be hard-pressed to show you in a worse light than you show yourself.

The No Sebastian Club... Really?

Seriously? Can't you be a bit more creative / realistic? Is your noble really that juvenile and imbecilic?

Everyone's acting really brashly and not even trying to address a way to salvage the situation. I can't tell if it's because ego's are too bruised or because you don't care to try to make it better.

I hope that letter wasn't forged, Bowie, the stuff you say is ridiculous enough that nobody should be bothered to forge a letter.

Pike's the only person being semi-reasonable with her approach and the flooding's getting a little old (though I'm sure that's pretty commonplace for this type of event in BM). I wouldn't mind seeing things thought out in messages within smaller groups / 1 on 1 before it's brought to the attention of the whole realm. Otherwise what has already happened (i.e. the dilution of the weight of the discourse) will only continue and render the argument into nothing more than arbitrary inflammation (and honestly some parts of it seem like that already).
