Then I strongly suggest you consider hushmail as an alternative - it's the only webmail I know that uses full encryption.
Welcome to my game, happy to hear that it's popular even on remote ranches. I'm serious, that's not a snide remark if it sounded like that (terribly tired today, so not sure if everything I say comes across as I mean it).
Oh, that's good to know. I'm a bit of a tin-foil-hat specialist, so I have quite a few worries about more "Major" corporations. And, no, it makes perfect sense, thank you. I don't know the full extent of how things are working, but...Let's hope that we're all safe, for now. I'll look into this Hushmail, thank you. I've been using my Yahoo! E-Mail as my main one, but who knows about Yahoo! itself, right?
Just to be clear: Yahoo and Hotmail are the only email providers that BattleMaster refuses. So you just happen to have been unlucky in your choice of free email addresses.
And yeah, Hotmail is owned by Microsoft, which is way bigger, more corporate, and more interested in exploiting you than Google.
Ah...That's...pretty terrible. I only use my Hotmail as a throw-away, build-up-spam E-Mail anyways, so that should be good. I don't mind Microsoft TOO much, it's just that google has implemented that weird new privacy-thing, and they know every website that you go on, everything you googled...(I'm just lucky that, where I am, pirating is more or less legal!)
Hi Dave, I might have to ruin your day:
Bing is developed and owned by Microsoft.
Google's market cap: $191.04 billion
Microsoft's market cap: $253.58 billion
So Microsoft is still bigger.
Also, according to Google, Bing basically plays "telephone" between you and Google, by taking your search query and asking Google what the results should be.
Oh, wow, I did NOT know that. Thank you! That's scary. I had the TORbrowser set up a few months ago, but it only works with .onion links, and I had just wanted to use it to download/etc. Plus, it's nasty slow.
http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/microsofts-bing-uses-google-search.htmlFirefox is developed and owned by Mozilla.
Guess where most of Mozilla's funding come from?

Sorry.
I found this list of free email services:
http://email.about.com/od/freeemailreviews/tp/free_email.htm
Great! I'll check that out immediately, thank you. G-mail evidently won't work for me, so once this page loads (Slow internet...), I'll look around on it. And, true, I guess that Mozilla isn't a very good choice. I also have Opera, and a very old version of Aurora (Sorta like a beta Firefox) from a long time ago...I'm mostly just scared of Google, however. I know that, one day I'll be on a trip to, say, the U.S.A, and start finding some movies/games/shows/whatever to download, and the feds are going to bust down my door and...Not even the Gods can save me after that.
fastmail.fm? opera bought it
Never heard of it. Opera seems pretty small, last I knew, it had only 2-3% of the total "Market share" for browsers.
Thanks for all your help guys! I'll get right on finding an E-Mail to use, whether it's this "Hushmail" or something else...This seems to be a great forums, and I really appreciate the help. For now, I have to hill the potatoes in the garden, so I bid you adieu.
