A couple of questions on being a Region Lord...

• Recalculate the food values of every region to work for a 7-day harvest instead of 5
• Update the DB with these new values for every single region at once
• Change all the places where the code deals with food so that they recognize this change

Can't you multiply the displayed value by 7/5th without changing the underlying value?

...harvest period depends on which island you are on.... bt is 9 days

and as i stated before numerous time, lords should really get an expanded food display, like what the banker gets, except showing only their region. (banker's shows daily consumption, how much food is needed until next harvest, estimates, etc)

having to calculate anything (aside from long term stuff) is a bit of a waste of time.

Dunno. Harvests have *never* been 9 days. Even when we had variable harvest lengths, it was 5, 7, 10, and 15. But all harvests are now 7 days, on all islands.

I suppose you could. But the Statistics page would still be wrong. And anywhere else that displays Food production values, like the RealmDetails page. Really, if the effort is going to be put in place to fix this, it really needs to be done right.

That's what, like, one or two lines of SQL-fu and it's done? OK, maybe it needs to be run separately on each island, but those two steps seem like the easiest part of the process.

Interesting, harvest should not be 9 days on any island so far as I know. Sa basically it looks like BT has been bugged for quite some time and people have just put up with it? They were calling you crazy cause they knew the way it SHOULD work and might not have a character on BT to know that the continent appears to be bugged.

AFAIK, it's been that way for over 5 years at least. A lot of devs play on BT, and none of them noticed? Any normal player would be inclined to think it's like that by design.

I never realized it was different on other continents, though. Dwi had seasons since so long, and I never played a meaningful role anywhere else.

Five years ago we had variable harvest, unless that system was never present on BT, which might explain why it didn't got to 7 days when the variable harvest system was scrapped. So it might have been an oversight.

I only remember variable harvest having effect on Dwilight. Thought it was supposed to, I believe, I don't remember ever having seasons on BT. FEI might have had it, though.
