Is there something changed with the map on the travel page on Beluaterra?

Draw the polygons ... again ...?

Having drawn polygons for BT, I can cry a bit for you too.  ;D

You did BT? Why didn't you just use mine?

Apparently, your polygons kept trying to shift to make Enweilian regions bigger, and Riombaran regions smaller. Something about an inherent bias.

I'm not joking. At all. Not even a little bit.

Because the new ones aren't SVG. They're in OpenLayers' native format, which I believe is a kind of JSON.  OpenLayers then knows how to translate it into SVG if we need that.

Also, the tracing we did was done right in the browser, and was able to almost perfectly directly input the data into the database.

Ah, I see. I do have a bunch of choices of file formats I could export to, but if it's a native format then that wouldn't have been possible.

Feels like things are finally moving forward. I would like to help out but I have no knowledge of what you guys are talking about lol.

This particular project, the drawing of region borders, was done on the dev server, so only people with dev server access could work on it. Tom set up the dynamic map in such a way that you could just click on the map to draw the borders, and the data was output to the console of your web browser. You copy/pasted that into a form and submitted it. It went pretty quick. Then Tim wrote a bit of javascript to fill out the form for you automatically. So it was just a bunch of clicking the borders, the typing in the region number. It went even faster after that... Bedwyr did a bunch of FEI and BT. Tom did parts of Dwilight/BT/EC, and Tim did some Dwilight and BT as well. Since BT and AT are the same map, no one had to specifically do AT.

There seems to be a little bug with this new map. If you look at a different region (For example: http://core.battlemaster.org/testing/RegionDetails.php?Name=Tindle), the map still focuses and highlights the region you are in, instead of showing you Tindle in this case.

Euh, what is that smokey vulcanic island doing near Madina?

@Bael, what do you mean with that thing about the Palm Sea?

When these maps were first discussed, the possibility of actually having estates set to parts of the region (ie, having regions subdivided) was mentioned as a possible end goal. So was the fact that one might be able to annex portions of adjacent regions into your own!

Heh, I also just noticed this, and was coming to post about it :)

If I might make a small request, could we have the option of setting the background to "none"?

Have to say I'm not exactly a fan of the new dynamic map. Seems to introduce a lot of extra clicks to get what you want out of the map and it's slow to the point of being almost useless(usually use FF3.6, but gave it a spin with FF8 and it wasn't much better).

Why doesn't it default to giving you the view the old dynamic map gave you? That's what most people are used to and it's simple and clean and gives you pretty much what you need.

Honestly I just don't see the value in spending time on a gimmicky map like this. It won't add to the game that much no matter what overlays you tack on it.
