Not OOC propaganda, that's the way I heard it happened. I *know* that CoH burned a Sartanian temple first, that's what started the religious part of the war. If no one from the Order did, then oh well, I had that part wrong. You still tortured and executed a Sartanian priest before the war even started.

Look, you don't worship any specific gods - therefore you must be atheists. Therefore you must die. Simples.

We do worship gods. We just don't tell non believers about them.
What is Freedom? - ye can tell; That which slavery is, too well; For its very name has grown; To an echo of your own

So... this clarification is moot, because from any IC perspective outside of your religion you are atheists?

Edit: Also, how is it even possible for a major religion to hide any of its dogma from public view if it has hundreds of thousands of commoners following it?

It also makes it hard to convert people. "We won't tell you about our gods until you already believe in them."

That actually came immediately following the Order's declaration of a Crusade.

I thought that happened just before the Crusade. Certainly I hear about the murder before I hear about the Crusade.

Draco Tanos

What caused the Order of the Elders to declare a crusade?

Antonine

Goodness knows. I think it was them just generally not liking the CoS.

Stabbity

The three tenants of the Church of Sartan: Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil.

The Order declared a Crusade against the Church of Sartan after they burned a second temple of the Order during the War of the Hearth Right. Shortly after the declaration, npc members of the Order located and burned a PC Sartanian priest at the stake in the middle of a temple, and took his head.

Mrh? We are obviously talking about different incidents. Your character personally had a Sartanian priest (one of Fleug's characters, I think?) executed. (Done via RP between you and the other character's player.)  That happened before the war ever started.

Just so we're clear, I didn't send out any orders to burn temples. I may or may not have even sent orders to do no such thing. So please don't come looking to me for that kind of thing.

Incorrect. Two temples were burned in the course of the Hearth Right war (Cathay and co vs Kindara and Zonasa), a crusade was declared by the Order. Fleugs and i kicked it off with the RP'd assassination of his character.

I was pretty darn sure the execution happened long before the war.
