The terms outside of article 9 serve the purpose of ceasing Sartanist aggression. You notice I have no qualm with those. Perhaps you are not aware of what a "peace" entails. For one, it does not entail Sartanist aggression being replaced with Ohnarian aggression.

As to the punitive terms, Article one dictates the ceding of lands to Ohnar West. At the onset of the war, Sorraine was larger, now they will be equal in size. Additionally, Ohnarian's freedom to move through Sorraine and the ceding of additional territories if Sorainne is the aggressor further cement the favorable terms to Ohnar West.

I seek a longstanding peace, not a piece of paper that calls itself a peace-treaty but is in fact nothing but a dolled up armistice.

Minerva arranged her hair, delicately balancing on her high heeled shoes. She'd had a little too much wine, and her control over herself was slowly giving way. The talks were proceeding better than she'd anticipated, with only four scuffles reported all day, and she'd allowed herself to relax and unwind at the evening soirĂ©e. Excusing herself from the other diplomats, she called for her attendant, nodding politely to the dignitaries she passed.

"Time for rest, I think. It's going to be another long day tomorrow." Her attendant nodded, escorting her towards the chambers allotted to her in the palace tower at Sasrhas, as befitting her status as head of the Sartanian diplomatic contingent. She stumbled as they climbed the spiralling stairs, almost falling before being steadied by her helper.

After a climb that seemed to take an age, they finally made it to her chambers, high in the palace of Sasrhas. Exquisitely adorned with the finest of tapestries, the gigantic room was tailored to provide for her every need. Dismissing her aide, she began disrobing and preparing to rest.

A rustling by the rooms curtain however, startled her, and she got up, moving towards the window to investigate. Peering out of the window, she gazed out at the stars, barely perceiving the deep chasm before her.

Suddenly, she felt a cold hand on her naked shoulder. She gasped, turning around to see a figure clad in blood red robes, with a curved dagger in it's other hand.

"You! What... What are you...?"

The figure only smiled.

"First we shall cut away the rot within..."

Minerva felt unbidden tears creeping into her eyes. "No... Please.. Don..."

Her words were cut off. The cold hand had gently shoved her, and she suddenly found herself in midair, plummeting slowly, inexorably, towards the ground far below.

As she fell, she knew her life was over. She screamed, a high, terrifying wail that echoed throughout the stone walls of the palace, an unabated scream that seemed to continue long after her body crashed onto the rocks.

Minerva, leader of the Sorrainian contingent has been slain. Voting is now open.
What is Freedom? - ye can tell; That which slavery is, too well; For its very name has grown; To an echo of your own

T'is to work and have such pay; As just keeps life from day to day; In your limbs, as in a cell; For the tyrants' use to dwell

I, a diplomat of Cathay, am terribly sorry for my absence. I was held up by a group of theives they surrounded me.
Those poor fools are dead now.
Me and diplomat Stabbity are here to represent fairness in this treaty.
I require information on the murder any accusations, idea, or beliefs?

I know you're new but asking for people to throw in their hats without throwing in your own is anti-town. Don't pretend to contribute, contribute.

We are nobles, not townsfolk. We seek to lynch a man(or woman) who has no nobility to them, someone daring to murder in the dead of night. Perhaps your words are telling of your character.

I looking back through my scribe well-kept transcripts from the previous posts. There has been no communication or credential letters showing Ambassador Norrel is from which realm. Care to explain which realm you represent, Ambassador Norrel?

This is an outrage! A scandal! An assassination of our guest, Ambassadress Minerva of Sorraine, in our own lands! And in the process of a diplomatic convention, no less!

We must put an end to this right now. Once we have had the culprit identified, I think we should bring the bastard to death. Quickly and swiftly, and most important of all: quietly. We can't call the guards, if someone from the outside knows about this the negotiations will be over at the spot. Ambassador Fury, I trust you will join myself in keeping this issue private: we must block the palace's exit until we have found the guilty hand. And for the Dragon's sake, let's do it fast.

In that light, I would also ask that you present your official identification, Ambassador Norrel. It is good to have things clear as soon as possible. About my opinion, I still remember Ambassador Dishman's hostile approach to my fellow, Ambassador Fury. Until I am convinced to do otherwise, I VOTE DISHMAN.

I don't roleplay on mafia, sorry. It tends to make things wolf-sided since they can just obfuscate their lies behind a veil of bull!@#$. Personal preference.

Voting for people because they are switching votes, testing reactions or trying to get good debate going (as opposed to fluff RP and peacekeeping) is anti-town.

Yeah, it is. We have no actual facts to go off of, nobody knows more than you do. Trying to get other people to voice their suspicions is just an attempt to start a bandwagon without accepting responsibility. It is fluff contribution.

You claim I would kill my kinsmen because I replied to Ohnarian insults in kind? If we want to talk about hostilities, I find it odd that you would ignore the hostilities of your compatriot and his friend.

(Sorraine) should be the first ones down on their knees to speak up.

Perhaps then Sorraine shouldn't start wars it can't finish? Hmm, yes. Perhaps you could ask the Sorrainians who started this war how they feel? Oh yes, I forgot, they fled in terror. Sorraine is getting off easy, and if Ohnar wishes to invade Sorraine in the future, they should feel free to.
Quote from: Stabbity on February 14, 2013, 05:53:00 PM
Honestly I would prefer if Arcaea kept more distance and would let the two realms duke it out until Sorraine finally collapses under the weight of the massive military failure their war has been. This isn't nursery school, Sorraine made their bed, now they need to lie in it.

If hostility is your gauge for who we should finger as how to deal with the death of Sorianian blood, I point you to those who have insulted Sorrainians. I do find the reactions thusfar interesting. Norrel makes a kneejerk reaction to me, ThomasGriff quickly jumps on with my vote, and D'Espana jumps on Norrel's. Are uknown alliances already showing? Perhaps there is more to last nights tragedy than a murderer.

<OOC: Norrel, I can understand not wanting to Roleplay, but I'm sure others don't want a flavorless and bland game. Fluff helps to 'switch votes, test reactions, and get good debate' as much as it helps to obfuscate dubious intent>

Ambassador Penchant,

Good to see you have arrived just in time. We are both representing Arcaea. Did someone mention Arcaea red wine?

Norrel, I know your playing style well. You know the chance of being lynched is higher, right? ;D
